Resolute

I don't do new year's resolutions. I've found there are so many little things that pop up that I want to do, or changes I want to make, that it's best if I just adopt new things when the mood hits.

Weird things, too. For example, so far, I've curled my hair 3 out of 4 days in 2010.

I've made a kick-ass scarf that I absolutely love (really that was back in 2009, when we were at home in Ontario with no Internet) and I'm making B a hat. With cables. And I taught myself how to make mittens with cables. The way I make mittens is so easy, but they're also made the same way for the right and the left hand... so unless someone wanted a cable on the back of one hand and the palm of the other, I really had to think about this one. I love yarn crafts and I want to do more of them. This year I may or may not go through my yarn stash and a) figure out what I shall use each skein for (I see more socks in my knitting future) or b) get rid of it.

I want to not procrastinate so much, but this is an ongoing thing for me. I have to work harder at it. It was so easy to get assignments done days in advance when I was in Victoria; now, not so much. I'm facing three 2,000 word essays due in four days and I'm freaking out a little bit (but probably not as much as I should be... there's still time!).

I want to wake up early. I make this goal every night before bed. And usually I fail. I've learned that breakfast helps. And coffee. Lots of coffee. I've adapted my work schedule, effective today, that I get to work a half-hour early and bank that time to take days off every now and then for school. Motivation!

I also always want to be a better blogger, write more letters to my far away friends (email me your address!), and remember to wear lip gloss/lipstick.

oh doll, I resolved for years to wear lipstick. It never panned out. But I too am resolving to do more with my hands, be better at "mornings" *shudder* and be a better blogger. We shall monitor each others progress and kick each others asses accordingly. xo

Like yourself I dont really make resolutions, there are things I need to do better, want to do better and I try to do those as the mood hits too. Mornings aren't my thing so you making it one of your goals is something that I greatly admire and aspire to (but will never be able to REALLY accomplish).

We should become snail mail friends! Emailing you my address now.

I always say I'm going to wake earlier and it always last a week. LOL I hope it works out for you :)

I'm not good at resolutions. I'm great at making them, complete with sub headings and five point action plans and then collapsing under the pressure.

My only one this year is Slow Down. I figure I can tackle that lol =)

2009 was the only year in all my 24 I've actually kept resolutions lol so I figure it's okay to start late! This year I'm going to read more, learn to cook real meals and not just order in/grab pre-made stuff full of additives, learn to drive and hopefully become more confident. And save more. I really wanted to add getting up earlier to do yoga to the list, but I know myself and no matter how strong the coffee, I'm not going to be able to function pre-6 am!!

And email me your address!! I'd love to be penpals! :)

I really want to stress less this year. My grandmother and my mother both have health problems and high blood-pressure from being so high strung and I am exactly like that, too. So this year I want to quit worrying about things I can't change and try to relax/meditate a bit more often!

That's a great list!

Waking up earlier/being a morning person - that's a goal for me too.

It'll fail. That's a promise.
